One Body

Do you ever just feel at one with your horse?

Sometimes when riding things happen and you should fall off or not stay on as well as you do, but you just move with your horse and stay on?

That's how it is with me and Boo Boo.

I've been riding him for eleven years. That's a long time. We know each other. We can read each other. We know each other's energy.

I can comfortably do anything on Boo Boo that I would do in a saddle bareback.

He's bucked and people watching have been amazed that I stayed on. We've jump 2'3"-2'6" bareback and I've been asked how I did it.

Sometimes it feels like my butt is just glued to his back. I feel him getting ready to move out from under me, but somehow I goes with him.

This isn't to say I've never fallen off of him. Of course I have. I've fallen off of him many times.

Just sometimes, somehow, I just move with him. It's like we are one. We are connected. We have one body.
